For cashtag one will have to type ‘$’ followed by the ticker of the company like $GOOG for Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) and and then the subscriber can enjoy what the Twitterverse is saying about that particular company.
Twitter’s $ cashtags works just like # hashtgas.
Cashtages were first introduced by four-year-old StockTwits, The company has been curating cashtagged stock information for years now.
Cashtag is not the only feature which is similar to other companies. Twitter launched photo feature last year and its main competitors are yfrog and Twitpic.
