New York, July 31 (alphajetsusa.com) – Sir Paul McCartney was paid just £1 as a token fees to perform at the Olympics opening ceremony.
The Beatles singer closed the spectacular event by playing tracks like The End’ and ‘Hey Jude’ . The singer didn’t mind waiving his regular fees as he will get the tickets for the Games from the Olympic Committee.
Dizzee Rascal, Arctic Monkeys, Frank Turner, Emeli Sande and Mike Oldfield are the other performers who performed at the event for the nominal fee. All the performers had agreed to play for free but had to be charged a token amount in order to sign a contract with organizers of the London Olympics 2018.
Even a few actors and performers volunteered their service without any charge.
The performers wanted to be a part of this incredible event whose production was out of the world. They felt honored and humbled to have been asked to be involved.
