New York, May 19 (alphajetsusa.com) – An amount of more than $90 million for a Midtown Manhattan penthouse has been paid by an unnamed buyer. The amount is highest ever paid for an apartment in the New York.
Although, the Extell Development Co, the seller, asked for $98.5 million for 10,923 square-foot condominium, the apartment was sold for about $8,000 a square foot.
The penthouse, which is located on the 89th and 90th floor of One 57 building on 57th street, has 23-foot ceilings, rosewood flooring, panoramic views of the city, Italian marble, custom hardware and light fixtures.
The house that is still under construction has total 95 condos is built on the top of a five star hotel Park Hyatt. The price for penthouse start from $6.75 million and almost half of the building has already been sold, although occupancy will start from next year.
In December, a $88 billion home was bought by a Russian billionaire, which once belonged to Ex-CEO of Citi Group. And in the other purchase, a Park Avenue co-op was bought for $52.5 billion, earlier this week.
